A support email that's available when the pool is not accessible & potentially some stats on when difficulty is low/medium/high to smooth out the hash power pointed at the pool so the return is optimized for everyone.
Features of a perfect mining pool
Dear XMR enthusiasts, we are working on a new Monero mining pool that would be really user friendly. At the moment we are considering the following features:
- User-friendly interface: centered around miner's performance monitoring;
- Anonymous: no registration required;
- Low fees: 0.4 - 0.8% (depending on the average miner's uptime);
- Fair and simple payment scheme: PPS (Pay Per Share);
- Frequent payouts: up to every 2 hours (depending on the total hash rate of the pool);
- Privacy: password protected miner's statistics;
- Performance-monitoring widgets: for iOS/Android/MacOS (in future);
If there are other things that are missing or annoying in the pools you're using right now, please write in the answers. We'll try to implement as many of them as we can.
For instance:
- Do you use payouts to exchange services?
- Do you need support for multiple miners connecting through a proxy server, like xmr-node-proxy?
- Anything else?
Your thoughts on this are very appreciated!
What exactly do you mean by smooth out the hash power pointed at the pool?
Do you mean that miners would look at the statistics of the pool and decide which miners to point to the pool?
Yes exactly, eg so if I'm mining and I see difficulty is very high, I may choose to not mine at that time because the pool's block/coin share may be lower and consequently my share will also be low. If the difficulty is not to high, time to find coin is reasonable and pool hash power is not too high I will join so I get a reasonable return on my electricity/hash contribution.
