There shuld be a "view daemon logs" or similar button in the settings page. Do you see any errors there ?
If not, then start the daemon manually, adding "--log-level 2", and post the output.
can not connect to daemon

i downloaded the latest gui beta 2 and when i try to connect to daemon it says it failed to start. when i run monerod manually it comes up for a few seconds and crashes. the error code from the gui is:

i cannot start the daemon manually as it crashes within a few seconds of opening it, therefore can not type in any commands. ive got no idea how to fix this please help! :)
