Crowdfunding Monero Node #2

Hi Monero community,

I have started crowdfunding another Monero node at bitnodes.net and have purchased 25 of the 50 shares required for Monero node #2. The initial node is running correctly and is stable. Once this second node is funded Monero node #3 is free. These are managed for one full year for $50.00, which I think is a good deal. You can donate whatever amount you want from 1 share ($1.00) to 25 shares ($25.00).

My original bitnodes post was in the idea section, see here: original post

The reason I put this in the general section was that I don't really think a node needs to be officially funded through the funding system. There are more pressing concerns for funding. Also, a more important aspect of nodes/mining is the mining part. We need more hashing power to secure the network vs. nodes in my opinion.

Anyway, if people want to fund the node, they can, through clicking the image above. Its not a big deal. If there is little interest, I will eventually fund the node myself.

People do need to understand that Monero needs geographically distributed nodes + mining. So if you use Monero, please consider running a personal node and/or mining node at your home or, alternatively, through a service like bitnodes .

Why not get a node post going in the funding section? I'd throw in for that. Maybe every X moneros collected, the bounty can be payed out to setup more nodes.

Yes, I agree. But their payment processor has some funky way of adding cryptocurrencies to the payment network. But you can use XMR via xmr.to pretty easily. :-)

Would be nice if they took XMR.
