Crowdfunding Monero Node #2

Hi Monero community,

I have started crowdfunding another Monero node at bitnodes.net and have purchased 25 of the 50 shares required for Monero node #2. The initial node is running correctly and is stable. Once this second node is funded Monero node #3 is free. These are managed for one full year for $50.00, which I think is a good deal. You can donate whatever amount you want from 1 share ($1.00) to 25 shares ($25.00).

Three should never be down though. At the most, one, for maintenance, while the other two are working properly. That was kind of the point in getting three up and running. The only time three nodes should be down is catastrophic failure of the data center in my opinion. Maybe my standards are too high. :-)

If all 3 nodes are down and then back at the same time, chances are they put all three on the same machine, each under different IP.

Thanks drfred. Yeah, they had 3 nodes down at once several times in the past. I'm not too happy about that myself. I can understand 1, maybe 2, but not all 3, and down for a while at that. I was hoping up-time would be more important to them.

all 3 nodes are back :) yay!

it appears all 3 nodes are down for a couple of hours now at least :(

if they manage to bring the nodes back stable, I'd be happy to sent you some xmr for the upgrade 3 weeks ago

Update on these Monero nodes.

Upgraded the three Monero nodes to:

  • Dedicated CPU:1 x 2.40 GHz, RAM:1024 MB, Storage:40 GB

Cost was about 89 XMR. They said they were having to restart the nodes too often, so needed more dedicated hardware for them. 89 XMR didn't seem like much, so I went ahead and did it.

It's auto-updated, with the date and time of last update showing in the image header. Only full nodes are counted, reachable on port 18080. You can view other charts and Monero compilation tutorials at: http://moneronodes.i2p.xyz / http://moneroxzfonkazxc.onion.to

I pay $180 a month for TRUST on 10 Nodes, Sao Paulo is slated for August. We have other members that cover some of the more sensitive jurisdictions. Im sure adding another core wont cost too much. Any particular places you need help? Local taxes play a roll in the cost.

I started reading about Monero after reading positive comments from TrueCryptonaire@BCT. Here is our current Map, we just added Mexico Wednesday.

How much for six nodes on six continents for one year? Also, what are these cryptocurrency vaults you have? Are those full nodes?

I can make nodes on our TRUST network... Which regions do you need nodes? I have servers on on all 6 continents.
